Once again, the real news in France is conveniently not being reported as it should.

 To give you an idea of what's going on in that country where there are now between 5 and 6 million Muslims and about 600,000 Jews, here is an E-mail that came from a Jew living in France ..

50 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Restoration and Breakthrough During the Counting of the Omer

“‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD.” (Lev 23:15-16)  As we indicated in our latest Prayer Alert, we believe that this year is a year of breakthrough in a special way both in Israel and in the nations. These two always go together. Whenever God moves in Israel, the Spirit falls on the nations.

David's Comment: A Great Day for the Shalit Family but also  A Great Day for Terrorism

Records were broken as 70% of the Israeli population spent most of last Tuesday glued to their TV screens, watching the minute by minute progress of the prisoner exchange and to catch the first glimpse of Gilad Shalit as he was set free after 5 years and 4 months of captivity by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Of course by mid-morning we were all rejoicing with the family and friends of Gilad as he crossed back into Israel, saluted IDF officers and hugged his father and PM Netanyahu. We all rejoiced again at about 5 pm as two Air Force helicopters flew Gilad to his home in a northern Galilee village.  Finally this kidnapped son of Israel was safe and sound with his family, enjoying the food and festivities of the last few days of the Feast of Tabernacles, and sleeping in his own bed after 1941 nights of sleeping in a cold dark dungeon in Gaza.  I think I can speak for 99% of Israeli families in that we all felt for Gilad as if he was our own son, grandson, or brother.

Israel’s enemies unite: Fatah and Hamas leaders plan meeting

After four years of internal struggle and bloody civil war, the leaders of the two main factions of the Palestinians—Fatah and Hamas—are scheduled to hold meetings in November. Hamas has totally controlled Gaza, using it as a launching pad for thousands and thousands of attacks on the Jewish people. The supposedly more moderate Fatah party headed by President Abbas (who financed the Black September raid that killed the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics) controls Judea and Samaria—the so-called West Bank.

The world and the national and international mainstream media are eerily silent when Israel and her civilian population are attacked by missiles from Gaza or Lebanon and her people slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists as just occurred.  But if she retaliates, oh my, the same immoral world and mass media scream and condemn her for daring to resist and a predictable anti-Israel censure is issued from that ultimate temple of hypocrisy: the United Nations.

Sheikh 'Adel Shehato, a senior official in Egyptian Islamic Jihad, told an Egyptian newspaper that though his group is running a slate in the Egyptian elections, he doesn’t believe in democracy. “It is not the faith of Muslims, but the faith of Christians and Jews. Once Allah's law is applied, the role of the people will end, and Allah will reign supreme,” he said. He further promised that if the terrorist organization gains power, they will launch a worldwide armed campaign to institute Islamic sharia law. “The Christian is free to worship his God in his church, but if the Christians make problems for Muslims, I will exterminate them.”
